What is Ozempic®?
Ozempic® is an FDA-approved medication designed to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. In addition to its primary use, it is also recognised for its effectiveness in supporting weight loss by curbing appetite and enhancing the body’s insulin response.
How does it work?
Ozempic slows digestion, helping you feel fuller for longer. Like other GLP-1 medications, it mimics a natural hormone in your body that regulates blood sugar levels and may also aid in weight loss.
What results can I expect?
Some patients notice weight loss within the first 2–4 weeks, while significant results may take up to 8 weeks. Clinical studies show an average weight loss of 20%, with 77% of patients maintaining results for over two years.*
*In clinical trials (68 and 72 weeks) for patients without diabetes and with BMI ≥30, or BMI ≥27 with a weight-related condition, average weight loss was 15% and 20% when combined with diet and exercise—compared to 2.4% and 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.

FAQs
Are there any foods to avoid while taking Ozempic?
While a &you-affiliated provider will provide personalized guidance tailored to you, there are generally no foods you must avoid while taking Ozempic. Our Body Program focuses on creating a balanced approach to food, steering clear of labeling anything as “off-limits.” Instead, we guide you toward an enjoyable eating plan that aligns with your weight loss goals.
That said, on days when your Ozempic dose increases, you might want to avoid foods that can cause gas or bloating. Gastrointestinal side effects like nausea are more common during these times, so it’s best to stick with foods that feel comfortable for your body.
How is &you addressing medication shortages?
&you and our affiliated providers are taking proactive steps to support patients during supply shortages.
For those prescribed Ozempic or Saxenda: Your pharmacy will add you to a waitlist if supplies are unavailable. Your provider may adjust your treatment plan as needed, including recommending alternative GLP-1 medications or changes to your diet and activity.
For new patients: Early steps like metabolic lab tests and consultations remain unaffected. If a GLP-1 like Ozempic or Saxenda is deemed suitable for you, joining the program sooner can help secure your prescription faster.
We’re also expanding offerings to include Orlistat and compounded Semaglutide. Contact your provider if interested in these options.
