ED Self-Assessment
Five questions, scored with the validated IIEF-5 (SHIM) tool urologists use to grade erectile function over the past six months. Answer all five to see your score and its severity band — everything runs in your browser, with no sign-up.
The ED Self-Assessment is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. It scores how you answer five questions about the past six months, and cannot account for medication, injury, or the cardiovascular, hormonal, and psychological factors that often sit behind a low score. A low result warrants a conversation with a clinician, not a self-diagnosis.
The assessment does not determine eligibility for any medications or treatments provided via &you. Consultation with a licensed healthcare provider is required to assess suitability for any medical treatment based on individual health and medical history.
What is the IIEF-5?
The International Index of Erectile Function, 5-question version — also known as the Sexual Health Inventory for Men (SHIM). Developed by Rosen et al. (1999) and widely used in urology clinics as the first-line screening tool.
What do the score bands mean?
22–25 no ED, 17–21 mild, 12–16 mild-moderate, 8–11 moderate, 5–7 severe. A score below 22 generally warrants a conversation with a clinician — not self-medication.
My score is low. What next?
ED is often a symptom of something else — cardiovascular, hormonal, psychological, or medication-related. A clinician can run a proper work-up, rule out underlying causes, and prescribe treatment (PDE5 inhibitors are first-line for most cases).
Is this private?
Yes — the quiz runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is saved, transmitted, or shared.
