Body Fat Calculator

This calculator uses the US Navy circumference method to estimate your body fat from a few tape-measure readings — no scale, no scan. It also splits your weight into fat mass and lean mass.

Assigned sex

The Body Fat Calculator is only an estimate of body composition based upon circumference measurements, height, weight, and assigned sex. Results depend on how carefully you measure, and the calculator may not accurately reflect the body fat of individuals of a specific race/ethnic group, those with high muscle mass, pregnant women, children, the elderly, or those with specific health conditions. The calculator should not be used as a sole diagnostic tool.

The calculator does not determine eligibility for any weight-loss medications or treatments provided via &you. Consultation with a licensed healthcare provider is required to assess suitability for any medical treatment based on individual health and medical history.

How accurate is the Navy method?

When measured carefully, the US Navy circumference method is accurate to roughly ±3% of DEXA scan values for most adults — the best you'll get without lab equipment.

Where do I measure?

Neck: below the Adam's apple. Waist: at the navel for men, at the narrowest point for women. Hips (women only): at the widest point. Measure relaxed, tape snug but not compressing skin.

What's a healthy body fat?

ACE categories: men 14–17% fitness, 18–24% average, 25%+ obese. Women 21–24% fitness, 25–31% average, 32%+ obese. Athletic ranges sit below those.
